End of Year... Not So Bad

It's hard to believe we are already at the end of another year! With 2008 being filled with historical, monumental, and action packed happenings it's easy to see how it all flew by so fast.

What's a little more difficult to see these days is the good side of our current economic state. Especially when it comes to the real estate industry.

We, however, at EXIT Texas have lots of good news to spread around and lots of memories worth celebrating from 2008.

Here are some of my favorite things for EXIT Realty from 2008:

• Tons of central Texas EXIT Agents given top industry awards.
• Lots of Industry Trade Shows where EXIT Realty dominated the event.
• Austin consistently named one of the top places to live by tons of different publications and polls. Something those of us living here already knew.
• Central Texas identified as one of the fastest growing regions in our country for all kinds of traditionally tracked sectors.
• Texas being named the "Lone star" of our countries economy... holding strong and even growing in areas other places are falling quickly behind.

Another Award Winning EXIT Realty Agent

Linda Rasmussen, who is part owner and full time top producer at Exit Realty TC Austin, was named 2008 Realtor Salesperson of the year. From serving on the San Antonio Board of Realtors, Board of Directors, and numerous other committees while running her business to sharing a life on the move with husband Thomas W. Carter, Lt Col USAF Retired, Linda has continued to be a forerunner in the Central Texas market.

I often wonder, when hearing of such successes in this turbulent industry, how they have done it. What fabric of human nature have they managed to either be born with, learned over time, or recently discovered that has propelled them into the arms of success?

Pierre Kennel Shines with amazing $100,000 Win!

One year has made a tremendous difference in Pierre Kennel’s life, as he has transformed from being out of work to engaging in a real estate career that has brought him an amazing $100,000 win. Pierre Kennel won the $100,000 grand prize at the Gala President’s Ball finale to EXIT Realty Corp. International’s 10th Annual Convention held in Nashville, Tennessee.

Pierre Kennel is a recent sales associate with EXIT Exceptional Properties in Austin, Texas with less than one year’s real estate experience. In a letter to EXIT Realty Founder and CEO, Steve Morris, Pierre described how his practice of creative visualization contributed to his recent good fortune. In the course of work, he had come across one of the EXIT promotional banners advertising the $100,000 prize drawing and each day at work he reaffirmed his desire to win the grand prize. He took this clarity of belief with him to the 2008 Convention and was thrilled when his dream turned into reality with his huge win.

Pierre’s story began in January 2008, when he was close to finishing real estate school and was beginning his job search. EXIT Realty Corp. International hosted its 10th annual convention held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN. Motivational speakers, entertainers and industry authors were a major draw for EXIT brokers, agents and related industry professionals from around the continental U.S. and Canada. Another key reason was the opportunity for EXIT realtors to be recognized for outstanding sales, listings and sponsoring performances achieved despite the downturned market exhibited in 2008. Annual awards designations indicated ends closed awarded at 25+ for Bronze, 50+ for Silver, 75+ for Gold and 100+ for Platinum levels.

Many team members from EXIT Realty Central Texas were among the award winners in the annual awards competition and shook hands with Steve Morris EXIT Founder and CEO who presented many of the awards. EXIT Realty Literacy Partner in Central Texas Schools

In 2008 local LiveStrong participant and bicyclist Wayne Morgan, rode in the Ragbrai ride, a 475 mile ride across Iowa as part of the LiveStrong team raising money to fight cancer. Wayne’s goal is to raise $20,000 and with support from local individuals and the Austin business community, he has raised $9,863 to date. Without a doubt, EXIT Realty had the LARGEST BOOTH PRESENCE of any real estate company at the Austin Board of Realtors® 2008 Realty Roundup Tradeshow. The Realty Roundup was held at the Austin Convention Center located in Austin’s downtown business district and is among the most attended real estate trade shows held in Central Texas. Over 2,000 people were in attendance to participate in featured seminars and investigate real estate industry products and services.

The EXIT team was out in force to spread the word on how EXIT Realty is changing the face of real estate in Austin. Despite a tough market, EXIT is still showing continued growth and making an impact on the market in Central Texas. Our Austin Broker – Owner’s increased attendance staffing the booth added to our overall footprint at the tradeshow. Steve Morris, Founder and CEO of EXIT Realty Corp International entertained and educated a gathering of over 200 real estate professionals at the New Braunfels Civic Center on Thursday, October 2, 2008. The 60 Minutes with Steve Morris event was hosted by EXIT Realty Central Texas and regional owners Dion McCormick and Jack Stoker. Many of the professionals included EXIT Realty franchise broker-owners and realtors from Austin and San Antonio and surrounding areas.

Wow—60 Minutes with Steve Morris recorded the highest attendance this year with more people attending the event than in previous years! Steve Morris’ message was timely, as attendees showed signs of continued interest in the EXIT formula message despite a tough real estate market. The EXIT formula is one of the leading real estate business models in the industry with financial returns that include sponsoring residuals, retirement and beneficiary benefits.

EXIT Realty Central Texas delivers at the TAR Trade Expo with an amazing turn out. Thanks to everyone for their participation in the EXIT Texas TAR convention booth. EXIT Realty had a strong presence at the Expo and showed the Texas Realtor community that we are growing!

You should have seen the show hall. There were Burgundy EXIT bags everywhere. Participants couldn’t turn around without seeing an EXIT logo.

The happy hour at Dirty Nelly’s was a blast and a fun conclusion to an exciting day. Everyone had a great time listening to music, winding down from the busy day and catching up with fellow EXIT teammates.

EXIT Slater Realtors On The Air in Texas

Jack Noble with EXIT Slater Realtors returns to 1200 AM WOAI News Talk Radio to host the EXIT Slater Realtors Real Estate Hour. The Real Estate Hour is a weekly real estate radio series that airs every Saturday from 1 – 2:00 PM CST and has a large listening audience statewide in Texas, ranging from Port Aransas to Waco. Jack is the primary host of the program along with guest hosts, Wayne and Annette Slater who are co-owners of EXIT Slater Realtors. The program operates from a general Q & A format with the hosts taking calls from listeners that run the gamut from general real estate questions to more specific issues like buying a home or how to sell a house.

EXIT TC Austin recently won three awards in the San Antonio Top 50 Individual Residential category. These designations were ranked by the 2007 gross closed residential sales.

The top-ranked agents included Ruben M. Peña, Linda Rasmussen and Chris Alvarenga (photo not available) who were also ranked in the Top 10 for the year 2007. Their performance as a top ranked team is spectacular.

Local Agents Receive Award
